Foundations, Footings & Slabs

Footings, foundation walls, monolithic slabs, garage and shop floors, and basement floors built to plan.

Everything above the foundation depends on the foundation. Williams Concrete Services pours footings, foundation walls, monolithic slabs, garage and shop floors, basement floors and equipment pads for builders, general contractors and homeowners across Middle Tennessee.

We work from plans, we build to pass inspection, and we hit schedule — because on a build, the foundation crew either sets the pace for every trade behind them or holds all of them up.

What's included

  • Spread footings, wall footings, pier and pad footings
  • Monolithic turned-down slabs for homes, additions, garages and shops
  • Basement and crawlspace floors
  • Garage and workshop floors with hardened, flat finishes
  • Vapor barrier, rebar and mesh installed to plan and code
  • Equipment pads, generator pads and dumpster pads

Footings and bearing

A footing is only as good as the soil under it. We dig to undisturbed bearing soil, undercut and replace soft material, and keep footings below the frost line.

Slabs on grade

A slab on grade needs a compacted stone base, a vapor barrier under conditioned space, correct reinforcement, and joints laid out before the pour. We thicken the perimeter where it carries wall loads.

What this costs

Foundation and slab work is quoted from plans or a site visit: linear footage of footing, slab square footage, thickness, PSI, steel, vapor barrier, excavation and pump requirements.

Foundations, Footings & Slabs questions

Do you work directly with general contractors?
Yes. A substantial share of our work is footings, slabs and flatwork for builders and GCs on residential and commercial projects.
How long before we can frame on a new slab?
Framing typically starts in 3 to 7 days depending on the mix, load and weather. Full design strength is reached at 28 days.
Can you pour in winter?
Yes, with cold-weather practices — mix adjustments, blankets and monitoring. We will reschedule when conditions make a quality pour impossible.
Do you handle the excavation?
We handle excavation for footings and slabs on most jobs. Large-scale site work and mass grading we coordinate with a grading contractor.
